Holy Cow! A month goes bye so quick - Christmas, New Years Eve and more!
Wowee! That was a whirlwind ride to see out the very end of 2018 and welcome in 2019.
The last 28 days has seen 18 performances from myself. I’m quite blown away by how busy it actually was - and it could’ve been even busier!
Thank you soooooo much to everyone who was a part of 2018 > it was by far my most busy year performing, and it was an amazing experience.
Special shout out to Sophia ♡ for all her very hard work in basically running my entire Instagram account and therefore a lot of marketing, photography, stylist and artistic work - even making some awesome connections for gigging avenues and of course keeping me company on the road trips.
Another special shout out to Luke - being the other part of the duo for nearly all the gigs at the American Hotel Echuca and all the duo gigs for 2018. Has been a pleasure to work with this fella and looking forward to continuing to play some more duo gigs in 2019.
So a bit of a recap!
14th - 19th December
Another great Friday at the American Hotel Echuca with Luke - then to Tindarra Resort for their Christmas Garden Party event Saturday day; this was really awesome - saw a lot of people I knew and got to catch up, lots of dancing and singing - even a guest appearance on the mic from Kristi Cahill - Awesome! Saturday night was Jolly Jugs at the Tongala Hotel, proper DJ gig really - awesome night, really would like to do a bit more of this! Check the video out ;). Sunday was the first time I was able to perform at the Deck - the new venue in Echuca. Got to play for the Tindarra staff party on the balcony - very nice cruisy arvo.
23rd & 24th of December
The 23rd I got to play out at the Tongala Hotel again for their Christmas Party they hold for the staff and also the valued patrons. Was a great arvo, awesome lunch with a very entertaining pool game. Christmas Eve was a great night at the Gypsy Bar Echuca - things really wound up hard towards the end of the night - was great seeing so many faces I haven’t seen for quite a while.
28th - 31st December
SUCH A CRAZY WEEKEND!
Started at the Taras Hall Hotel on the Friday night - great night, people up dancing - even got a Corin Raymond song recorded! Saturday was an early DJ set at the Gypsy Bar Echuca, Sophia and I bought a DDJ-400 Pioneer DJ controller and had been practising madly - so a great opportunity to rehearse live. Then the acoustic session at the Gypsy Bar Saturday night - flying madness! SOOOO HOT! Out to Cape Horn Vineyard on the Sunday arvo, they broke their record for pizzas in a day… was it busy? Ah - yeah. Was it fun? HELL YEAH! :D. Then Gypsy Bar again on the Sunday night, the last Sunday Sesh at Gypo for 2018 - yes, it went off. NYE was out at the Morning Glory River Resort - I’ve been lucky enough to play out here the last 3 years continuously and then another 3 years at another times previously. It really is a great New Years Eve gig - this year was the BIGGEST and BEST yet (quoted by Greg the owner :D).
January 3rd - 6th
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2019 off to a flying start with 6 gigs Thursday to Sunday - and - I injure my back trying to start the year with a bit of physical activity - OUCH! Thursday - another DJ set at the Gypsy. Very cool - will be doing this more and more! Friday night - a more quiet Friday night at the American Hotel with Luke again. But still fun, and painful!. Saturday was a first for me playing for the lunch service out at Pericoota Station - had only done weddings her previously, a cooler day on the deck. Loved it - still hurt! Saturday evening I was in the beer garden at the Deck - a very nice chilled vibe. Food was great - looking forward to playing here more and more. Sunday - back to Cape Horn in the arvo, another busy day, but not as hot as last time, very beautiful day in fact, wish I was chilling on the grass myself. Kim Kneebone joined me on stage for a song, great arvo! Sunday night - Gypsy Bar Sunday sesh. This one was a great night - lots of good company, ended up playing till 11pm as the crowd was lit. An impromtu rendition of “Take Me Home Country Roads” got everyone on the table tops.
PHEW!! That was MASSIVE! But awesome - back is healing, and this weekend ahead Sophia and I are on the road visiting some high country. Chat again soon!
